Mosby, Brenda Martin

Brenda Lee Martin Mosby, 79, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, in the presence of those she held dear — including her daughter Leigh Anne, son-in-law Doug, and her faithful and adored dogs, Daisy and Henry.

She was grateful for all of the visits of friends and family. Dolly Ibidolapo was also a loving, comforting, and regular presence helping to care for Brenda and keep her at home.

She is remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, and friend. Besides her family, her other passion in life was her job as an Extension Agent for Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in both Bedford and Lexington, Virginia. She enjoyed teaching educational programs on nutrition, finances, food safety, and heart health for her Extension Homemaker ladies and the public. She was also heavily involved in the Master Gardener and 4-H programs.

Brenda loved being outdoors – the farm life, her animals, and living in the country. Her favorite days were spent at home with her beloved husband Henry, dog Puma, and cat Tati.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Henry S. Mosby Jr., her brother Robert Eli Martin Jr., her parents Robert Eli Martin Sr., and Mucie Lee Peters Martin.

In honor of Brenda’s life, donations to her favorite programs; the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association are appreciated.

The family will receive friends and family at their home at 4964 Goose Creek Valley Rd,

Montvale VA 24122 on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 12 to 4pm.
