Mitchen, Lois Buckland

Lois Jean Mitchem. Age 85, of Ballard, WV passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. Born on April 6,1941 in Peterstown, WV she was the daughter of the late Arthur Garfield Buckland and Janice Aileen Dillon Buckland.

Lois was of the Baptist faith. She was employed at Celanese in Narrows, VA for thirty- five years. Lois was a loving mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Edzel Mitchem; her twin brother and sister, Azel Buckland and Hazel Jane Blankenship and son-in-law, George Daniel “Danny” Mann.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Melissa Mann of Ballard, WV; grandchildren, Mary Ellen French and husband, Andy of Pearisburg, VA, Jean Bowles and husband, Clayton of Ripplemead, VA and Daniel Mann of Ballard, WV; great grandchildren, Kaylie French, Ryan French and Brooklyn French and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, Lois will be cremated and there will be no services.
