Hardin, James Edward

James Edward “Eddie” Hardin of Radford, Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2026. Born on December 8, 1968 in Atlanta, Georgia, Eddie was the son of the late Raymond Hardin and the late Patricia Ann Parker.

Eddie lived his life his own way and loved in his own way. He had a tender heart, especially for children and animals. He loved his sons beyond measure, especially in the past ten years, living closer to them. He enjoyed time with his precious grandchildren, who loved their “PaPa.” Eddie valued his friends and was loyal and dependable. He will be sorely missed.

Eddie is survived by three sons: Jay Sartin, Jamie Hardin (Dani), and Tim Hardin (Lindsey), brother Ricky Hardin and sisters Liz Ling and Donna Hardin. Grandchildren (Jamie) Dominic, Addie, Arianna, Patience and Ember; (Tim) Jentry, Foster, and Zaia; (Jay Sartin) Trenton. He leaves behind his longtime partner, Teresa McLamb Blackmon and best friend, Phillip Linkous, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Lindsey, and his sister, Theresa Ford.

A celebration of Eddie’s life will be held at Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg on Thursday, November 5 at 6:00 PM. Visitation will be held before the service. Friends and family are welcome to share stories and memories.
