Greer, James Brian

James Brian “Fish” Greer, of Fairlawn, passed away at his home on Monday, April 20, 2026, after a lengthy illness. He will be remembered for his love of music, sports, family and friends.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Betty Greer, and his infant sister, Laura Elaine Greer.

Left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Clyde (Bonnie), David and Daniel Greer; sister and brother-in-law, Eileen Simpkins (Shane); and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

After serving in the Air Force, Brian proudly graduated from New River Community College and Radford University with a business degree. An avid sports fan, Fish could frequently be found on a volleyball court. He was always ready to have a good time and he never turned down the chance to pet a cat.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
