Spencer, Willie Mills
On September 15, 2026, Willie Mae Spencer went home to be with the Lord. She is now resting peacefully in the loving arms of Jesus and reunited with the beloved family members who went before her. Our angel on earth has now earned her heavenly wings.
Willie was deeply loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her strong and unwavering faith was evident in everything she did and was a light that touched all those around her. She loved her family more than anything in this world, and they were truly the center of her heart.
Willie had one of the biggest and most giving hearts anyone could ever know. She was always the first to show up with food, a listening ear, a comforting hug, or simply the love someone needed. She gave so freely of herself and never hesitated to help others. Her kindness, compassion, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Henry Mills and Dania Sheppard Mills; brothers, James Jones, William (Billy) Mills, Hobert Mills, and Freddie Mills; sisters Audrey Roop, Christine Dudley, and Lucille McDaniel.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Luther Spencer. Her children Tamara Grassmann and spouse, Bob; Sharon Adams and grandchildren, Jamie and Connor Adams. Her sisters Trudy Worrell, Shirley Yates and brother-in-law, Butch. She also had many very special nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and church family she loved dearly.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at 10:00 at Horne Funeral Horne. The funeral will follow at 11:00 in the funeral home with Pastor Mark Spencer officiating. A graveside service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens will follow.
Those wishing to honor Willie’s memory may consider making a donation to St. Jude’s or Shriners Children’s Hospital, two organizations that she was dedicated to supporting.

So sorry to hear this 😢💔
Willie Mae was one of the sweetest godly women I had the pleasure of getting to know.
She was in some way kin to my Dad Ballard Shepherd.
Love ❤️ and Prayers for the families 🙏🙏🙏
