Belcher, Lawrence
Lawrence Belcher (Larry), 75, of Lake City, FL, previously of Ballard, WV, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024. Larry was born in Kentucky to Andrew and Elsie Belcher on March 8, 1949.
He proudly served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Larry spent his career working for Norfolk and Southern Railroad.
Larry was a devout Christian who loved Jesus, and a patriot who loved his country. He loved life and lived life to the fullest. He was deeply loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Andrew and Elsie Belcher; his wife, Vista Belcher; his brother, John; his sisters, Bernice and Theresa; and eleven half brothers and sisters.
His surviving family includes his sister, Melda and her husband Chip; also surviving are Larry’s children, James and his wife Tess, Melanie and her husband Derek, and Debra and her husband David; grandchildren, Jasmine, Michael, Eliana and her husband Marko, Derek and his wife Lexie, Noah, Jeremiah, Laila, Randy, Caleb and his wife Maddie, and Sam; along with many amazing nieces and nephews and many other extended family members.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 12:00PM on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Orchard Cemetery in Ballard, WV. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery before 12:00PM.
