* WHAT…Northwest winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.

* WHERE…Portions of north central and northwest North Carolina and central, south central, southwest and west central Virginia.

* WHEN…From 7 PM this evening to 3 PM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds may also uproot trees due to the rain softened ground.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…This is expected to be a multi-day wind event.
