Conley, Geneva Athelene

Geneva Athelene Conley, 89, of Narrows, VA, passed away Monday, October 26, 2026, at her home. She was born November 24, 1936, in Amigo, WV, the daughter of the late Virgil & Winnie Palmer.

Geneva attended church at the King’s Way Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a seamstress at local sewing factories for many years. She retired from the Celanese Corporation after 29 years of service. She enjoyed taking road trips to visit her family in Pennsylvania.

She loved to cook, especially for Holiday Meals. Some of her family’s favorites were her Orange Juice Cakes and Chocolate Éclair Desserts. She enjoyed crafting and working puzzle books and was known to stay up all hours to finish her puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Paul & Winnie Orcal Prince Palmer, her husband, Ezra Roscoe Conley, her sons, Jerry Conley, Barry Conley and Joey Conley, and her siblings, Carl, Bill, Clarence, Mike, Loretta Vronick, Glenda, Curtis Ray and Lida.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Karen Townsend and Sherrie & Mike Hazelwood; her beloved grandchildren, Amanda Hazelwood, Jacob Hazelwood, CJ & Traci Chewning and Kayla & Richard Moore; her great-grandchildren, Mark, David, Scott, Willow and Anakin; her siblings, Virgil, Jr., Lisa Murray, Betty & Bob Dawson, Tennis & Jane, Robert & Maryanne, Wesley, John & Tuesday and Ronnie; and a multitude of extended family and friends, too many to list.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 31, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Cornerstone Church, Narrows, VA, with Pastor Tony Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in the Boyd Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time, 2:00 P.M., at the church.
