Reed, Michael Thurman

Michael Thurman Reed, 74, of Christiansburg passed away on Sunday, October 25. Michael was a happy, loving person, who always carried a smile. He had a brief stint in the U.S. Army.

Michael was preceded in death by his son, Michael Hatcher, and his brother, Waymond Reed.

Michael is survived by his children, Randy Reed, Danny Reed/Jaime Ferguson, Christopher Reed/Saprina Reed, and Dana Mills/Tony Mills; daughter-in-law, Heather Hatcher; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Kathy Slate and Judy Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 31 from 12 to 1 p.m. at Sowders Chapel Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the church with Rev. Lannie Belcher officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations to be sent to Sowders Chapel Church.
