Huffman, Beverly Wehrs

Huffman, Beverly Wehrs 2Beverly Wehrs Huffman, known to everyone as Bev or Nana, passed away peacefully at home on October 26, 2026, surrounded by her husband, son, daughter, and son-in-law. She was 76 years old. Her life was full of quiet compassion, unwavering generosity, and an endless love of family.

Beverly was born in July 1950, in Springfield, Ohio, to Omar and Anna Wehrs. She grew up in Ohio with her four siblings. She graduated from Springfield South High School in 1968 and then began her career with Ohio Bell. She continued her service with BellSouth/AT&T while raising her family in North Georgia. After 43 years of service, she began a well-deserved retirement. Bev and her husband, Jerry, then moved to the mountains of Southwest Virginia, where she spent the last five years watching her youngest grandchildren grow.

In 1980, Beverly married Jerry. Together they shared 46 years of marriage and built a home filled with laughter and love. They raised three children, and anyone who visited knew there was always room for one more at the table.

Outside of work, Beverly was happiest when she was crafting, quilting, gardening, and antiquing. She loved going to all of her grandchildren’s sporting events. Those who knew her will never forget her.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Jerry; her daughter Jennifer (Jeff) Young of Flowery Branch, Georgia; her son Ryan (Jennie) Huffman of Jacksonville, Florida; her daughter Tara (Richie) Santiago of Christiansburg, Virginia; six grandchildren, Jackson and Jaelynn Young, Canon Huffman, and Kinley, Brayden, and Easton Santiago; her siblings, Vickie (John) Snyder, Doug Wehrs, Donnie (Natalie) Wehrs, and Carol Wehrs Crawford; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Omar and Anna Wehrs; her mother-in-law, Laura Towery; and her beloved sister-in-law, Debbie Wehrs.

Family and friends are invited to visitation on Monday, November 2, 2026, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg, Virginia. A celebration of life service will follow immediately at 6:00 p.m. Ron Cansler, a lifelong friend and pastor, will officiate.
