Stanger, Doris Phoenix
Doris P. Stanger, aged 72, of Christiansburg, passed away peacefully at her home on February 11, 2026. Doris retired from Poly Scientific.
Doris was cherished for her unwavering love and commitment to her family. She shared quiet a ride in marriage with her husband, Glenn, for over 53 years. Together, they created a life filled with cherished memories.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Arminta Lucille Francisco, as well as her brothers, Michael Steven Phoenix and David Wilson Phoenix; her sister, Debra Lynn Taylor; two uncles, Jack and Aubrey, and aunts, Lila, Margaret, Dorothy, and Harriet.
Doris is survived by her husband, Glenn; her daughter, Tina Stanger, and wife, Heather Stanger; her son, Jason Stanger, and wife, Amy Hudson-Stanger; her treasured grandson, Aiden Stanger; her aunt, Janet Jennings; and numerous nieces and nephews who will all miss her dearly.
The family invites friends to celebrate Doris’s life on Saturday, February 14, from 3 to 4 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Pastor Jerry Hylton.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Prayer for the family . Doris was a wonderful friend and shared her life with us . We all were family. We grew up together at Poly Scientific. She was a great worker and was loved by many. I will always cherish all the talks I had with her. She loved her family so much. Prayers for you all❤️🙏

Tina I am so sorry to hear this about your mom. I know how it feels to lose your mom .I lost my mom in 2019 and still not over it yet. I’ll be keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers 🙏 🙏

Prayers for her family ! Worked with Doris at Moog and she was a neighbor for years such a funny girl even thur the pain she lived with. Always a smile !rest in peace.
