Hinkley, Richard Wayne

Richard Wayne Hinkley, age 62, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. He was born on October 5, 1963, in Christiansburg, VA.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Hinkley; father, Jonah Hinkley; sisters, Barbara Jennings, Betty Harris, Katie Musselman, Judy Bonds; brothers, Roger, Thomas, Sam, Vernus, and Jack Hinkley. He is survived by his sisters, Becky Lovern and Nancy Custer; brothers, Gary Hinkley, T. Michael Bond; good friend, Emma Poff; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor T. Michael Bond and Rev. Dwayne Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home.
