Dickerson, George Port

George Port Dickerson, 86 of Willis, passed on Thursday, December 4, 2025. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ursula J. Dickerson; parents, John & Eva Dickerson; sister, Gloria Graves; and brother, John Dickerson “Big John”.

He is survived by several close family friends, the Wade families, the Vaught’s, the Cox family, and the Bonds family. George also leaves behind his beloved hounds, Teddy Jr. and Queenie.

Special thanks goes to the doctors, nurses, Carilion Hospice, and Carilion New River Valley Medical Center for making George’s final days as comfortable as possible and showing care and compassion.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 in the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Roy Turpin officiating. Interment will follow in the Big Sand Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
