WHAT…For the Wind Advisory, northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected. For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 9 below expected.

WHERE…In North Carolina, Alleghany NC, Ashe, and Watauga Counties. In Virginia, Carroll, Floyd, and Grayson Counties.

WHEN…For the Wind Advisory, from 6 PM this evening to 4 AM EST Wednesday. For the Cold Weather Advisory, from midnight tonight to 10 AM EST Wednesday.

IMPACTS…Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. The cold wind chills as low as 10 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
