Cox, Helen Phillips

Helen Phillips Cox of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 7th, 2026 at the age of 93. She was born on May 12th, 1933 in Indian Valley, Floyd County, Virginia to Noah Phillips and Addie F. Cox Phillips Hunt.

She was married to Elza Berkie Cox on June 9th, 1955 and they shared 71 wonderful years together. She devoted her life to her husband, daughters, and family, her local Woodman fraternity, and her faith being an active member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lexington, NC.

Visitation will be held at First Pentecostal Holiness Church (1448 E US Hwy 64, Lexington, NC 27292), on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at 1:00pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm, and a graveside service held at Ambrose Cox Memorial Park/Irenia Mayberry Cox Cemetery (Ambrose Park Road NW, Virginia, 24380) on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 2:00pm. The family invites friends to share memories and celebrate a life well-lived.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lexington, NC and Alderwood of Davidson County in Helen’s memory.
