Whitlock, Eleanor Ingram 8In Memory of Eleanor Lois Whitlock (August 13, 1930 – April 22, 2023) Eleanor Lois Whitlock, age 92, passed away at home surrounded by family on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023. She was born on August 13th, 1930. Eleanor is now peaceful and rejoicing in heaven with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Eleanor was a hard worker and a caring individual. Her heart was so big and full of love to give. Eleanor worked at The Bank of Floyd for 33 years. She was very committed to her community and her church, Stonewall Church of the Brethren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Wayne Whitlock of 68 years; parents Uriah and Eunice Ingram, son Melvin (“Buck”) Whitlock, sister India Moore, and brothers Russell Ingram and Joseph (“Little Joe”) Ingram.

She survived by her daughters, Sherri Martin and husband, Sam, and Anne Gearhart and husband, Randell; daughter-in-law Cheryl Whitlock-Allen; Eight grandchildren, Lawrence (Patricia) Whitlock, Monica (Kevin) Grubb, Matthew (Christina Simko) Martin, Emily (Aldo) Loya, Brandon (Holly) Gearhart, Wyatt (Bryce) Gearhart, Shaylee (Chad) Earles, and Colby (Caileigh) Gearhart; and eight great-grandchildren, Garrett Whitlock, Jesse Whitlock, Kearsten Grubb, Collin Grubb, Santiago Loya, Eva Loya, Kade Gearhart, and Sadie Simko-Martin; many nieces, nephews, cousins and an especially close friend, Judy Blackwell.

The family would like to thank all caregivers and extend gratitude to all who helped Eleanor: Stephanie, Pam, Cathy, Brenda, Nicole, Emily, CenterWell Home Health, and Good Samaritan Hospice. Not only did they care for Eleanor, they cared and supported her family too.

Funeral services will be held on Monday April 24, 2023, at 11AM, at Stonewall Church of the Brethren with pastors Jerry Hylton and Darren Landon officiating. Special music will be played by Pastor Roy Turpin. The family will receive friends one hour before service time at the church. Interment will follow in Stonewall Cemetery.
