Mary Ellen Sutphin, 68 of Dugspur, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

She is survived by her husband, Ricky Surratt; sons, Shane Burnette, Gregory Thomas (Samantha), Brandon Thomas; daughter, Britnea Burnette; precious grandchildren, Shane Burnette, Vanessa Burnette, Aiden Burnette, Jimmy Thomas, Cheyenne Thomas, Chloe Thomas, Cory Thomas, Jesse Thomas; sisters, Vera Sutphin, Barbara Hamm; brothers, Bobby Sutphin (Lori), Randall Sutphin; sister-in-law, Partricia & Raymond Knowles; one niece; and five nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 in the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Nathan Phillips and Pastor Leon Moles officiating. Interment will follow in the Alderman Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at the funeral home.
