Rupe, Alan Dale 2Alan Dale Rupe, a devoted husband and father of five, passed away Friday surrounded by his family, leaving behind a legacy of service to his country, and community through his dedication to law enforcement and his Family.

Alan was born in Radford, Virginia in 1953, where spent his child hood with family and friend graduating from Radford High School in 1971.

In 1973, Alan began his career in law enforcement as a police officer in Dublin, Virginia; he then enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1975 where he served with distinction as a Security Police Officer for 22 years. After retiring from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant in 1997 he moved back home and began a career as a Dispatcher for the Town of Christiansburg Virginia till 2005.

His dedication to protecting others spanned an impressive 32 years, encompassing both his military service and contributions to local law enforcement.

Alan’s life was defined by his unwavering dedication to service and his love for his family. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his Father Howard, Mother Betty, Sister Heather and K9 Cody. He is Survived by Wife Merrillee (Boots), Son Charlie, Daughter Valarie and her Husband Terry, Daughter Dawn and her Husband David, Son Derek and his wife Stephanie, Son James and his wife Holly, Brothers Greg and Kevin, Sister Missy, and his nine grandchildren.

His life was grounded in ensuring the well-being family his community through his steadfast professionalism and care.

His family members remembers him to be Larger than life a man to look up to. An Ol’ Fart taught his sons how to be responsibly and strong and his daughters how to be strong all the sweet.

He will be missed by countless family, friends, and acquaintance that had the honor to meet and know Alan. “A special thanks to Logan for his caring and dedication to Alan and his family”

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Mausoleum at Highland Memory Gardens, 5555 Lee Hwy, Dublin, VA 24084
