Robinson, Lonnie Bishop

Lonnie “Lonzo” Bishop Robinson, born October 22, 1966, in Baltimore, MD, long term resident of Radford, VA, passed away on June 29, 2026.

He left behind his loving wife of 37 years, Carolyn “Sue” Robinson; daughter, Brittney Nicole Robinson; and his pride and joy, granddaughter, Ava Arrington Smith.

Lonzo loved to fish, hunt, being outdoors, and anything with his family. He was a master of all trades with a touch of a finger. He would tell stories and jokes and could make anyone laugh until they cried. He had a knack for giving everyone their own special and unique nickname.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his father, Doyal Robinson; mother, Loretta Robinson; and brother, Jason Robinson.

He is also survived by his sister, Doylene “Tony” Heizman; sister, Karen (late Joe) Harris, Laura (Mike) Lee; brother, Craig (Sissy) Robinson; and loved by many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, a great-great nephew; as well as many close and special friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Jason Vaughn officiating. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to help the family with expenses.
