Plumley, Jr., Allen

Allen Plumley Jr., age 79, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Main Street Care in Hinton, WV. Born March 14, 1945, in Beckley, WV, he was the son of the late Allen and Leona Richmond Plumley.

Allen was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Red Sulphur Springs, WV. He worked as a butcher and coal miner. He enjoyed going to flea markets and visiting friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Grimmett; his second wife, Mavis Sue Hodges Plumley; and siblings, Orville, Jimmy, Edward, Billy, and Thelma.

Survivors include his stepchildren, Gary Grimmett, Carl Grimmett, and Jeanette Grimmett; and his niece, Imogene Bonds.

A visitation will be held from 1:00PM until 2:00PM on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV. A graveside service will follow at the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Red Sulphur Springs, WV, with Rev. Steve Howdock officiating.
