McCroskey, Dornie Eugene

In Loving Memory of Dornie Eugene (Cracker) McCroskey 79 of Narrows Va, passed away peacefully at Lewis Gale Salem August 5, 2026 surrounded by family. He was born July 27,1947 to Earnest Howard McCroskey and Beulah Lee Lucas McCroskey.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Rex McCroskey, and mother-in-law Betty Day Cooper. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Cynthia Ann Cooper McCroskey, Four sons Chris McCroskey, Jason and April McCroskey, Joe McCroskey and Brittany Simmons, Aaron and Samantha McCroskey. Nine grandchildren, Shanda Green, Savannah Staten, Mason, Brooklyn and Cora McCroskey. Chelsey, Summer, and Isaac McCroskey and Abigail Kirk. Wyatt and Paislee McCroskey. One Great granddaughter Kensley Green. One brother Ernest (Dolly) and Connie McCroskey. One sister-in-law Sherri Baumgardner and significant other Stephen Dehart. Two brothers-in-law George and his wife Trish Cooper and Eric Cooper and his wife Laura. His porch buddy Beau, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He worked at Celanese for 23 years. His hobbies included listening to the oldies, watching all sports, sitting on the porch soaking up the sun, feeding the wildlife, hunting and fishing, and watching the grandkids sports activities. He will always be remembered for his stubbornness and will be missed dearly. Until we meet again.

The family will receive friends at Kendall Funeral Home Saturday August 8, 2026 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 pm with the service following and Pastor Gary Poff officiating.
