Goetz, Betty Burd

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Burd Goetz passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the age of 86 years. She was born and raised in High Bridge, New Jersey where she graduated from High Bridge High School in 1958. She graduated from Douglass College in 1962 with a degree in mathematics/education. Three days after her graduation, she married Raymond O. Goetz who survives her.

Survivors along with her husband also include her children and their spouses, James T. (Marilyn) of Omaha, Nebraska, Timothy T. (Melissa) of Portsmouth, Virginia, and Cindy Sue of Vero Beach, Florida; special grandchildren that they raised, Devin (Tammy) of Roanoke, and Erica (Michael) of Salem, Virginia; six other grandchildren; special great-granddaughters, Tara Rose and Rachael Ann; and many other special relatives and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Wendy Lynn Stillwaters; and her granddaughter, Hannah Grace.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
