Lester, Freda Trent

Freda G. Lester, age 78, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. Born October 22, 1945, in Long Pole, McDowell County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow W. and Ernestine Morgan Trent.

Freda was a member of the Cashmere Baptist Church in Cashmere, WV. She loved to quilt and enjoyed singing. She was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant siblings; and one sister, Margaret Maxwell. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 59 years, Wade Lester of the home; two sons, Wade Lester Jr. and wife Sandy of Bozoo, WV, and Jeff Lester and wife Alicia of Hanover, WV; one daughter, Veronica Wills and husband Grump of Bozoo, WV; two brothers, Ott Trent and wife Faye of Hanover, WV, and Glen Trent of Long Pole, WV; one sister, Bernice Stanley and husband Buster of Long Pole, WV; three grandchildren, Briana and husband Jakob Carter, Anthony Wills, and Amber Wills; three great grandchildren, Raelynn, Granger, and Weston Carter; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, September 11, 2023, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Pastors John Offenberger and Walt Bonnell officiating. Burial will follow at the Peterstown Cemetery in Rich Creek, VA.

Visitation will be held from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at the funeral home.
