Jennelle, Lucinda Surratt
Lucinda Surratt Jennelle, 82, of Dublin, Virginia, passed away peacefully on July 31st, 2026, in her home surrounded by her loving family and special friends.
Luci was known for her kindness, her generosity, and her unwavering love for family and friends. She served for many years as an Environmental Compliance Administrator at Volvo. Through her many years of dedication and integrity on the job, she earned the respect of her colleagues. Luci was an active member of UAW Local 2069, serving from the initial organizing efforts at Volvo until the day she passed. She also dedicated many years to Head Start and Community Action, as Head Teacher and Anti-Poverty Coordinator. There, she served families in the area with care and commitment. Her work reflected her deep care for others and her community. She was an avid painter who found joy in color and creativity. Her quick wit and unique sense of humor brought light and laughter to those around her.
She shared a loving marriage for many years with Gary Lee Jennelle, of Dublin.
Luci is survived by Gary, her daughters, Katherine Sutherland Dove, Tara Kercher Neal, Joyce Bratton Pendergrast, her grandchildren, Gabriel Evans Dove and Connor, Margaret McCarron Neal and Ezra, Elizabeth Anne Virginia Neal and Dakota, Alyssa Altizer Harvey and Collin and John Tyler Neal and Kris, as well as many extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by Stanley Ketchel Leroy Surratt, Ann Crosier Thompson, Malcom Everett Thompson and James Taylor Dove IV.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in Pulaski, where she was an active member. Family and friends will be invited to attend and honor Luci’s remarkable life.

Lucinda was a terrific PHS Oriole 1962 Classmate and part of just about all of our yearly and 5 year reunions. She is one of us that has lived in the Pulaski Area and one that I have had the opportunity to see often. Lucinda i has always been so nice and pleasant and her Facebook Posts have been full of her Faith in God. As always, I was looking forward to seeing her at our August 15 Mini Reunion. My Prayers are with all of the Family.
