Canedy, Catherine Pym

Catherine “Cathy” Ann Canedy, age 67, of Riner, Virginia died, Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Corning, New York on January 20, 1959. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Jack Pym, Sr. and her brother, Ronald “Ronnie” Jack Pym, Jr.

Cathy was the office manager for Centre Dance of State College, Pennsylvania for over 30 years. She loved knitting with her Wednesday knitting group, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Scott Canedy; daughters and sons-in-law, Jessica and Justin Yalung and Megan and Pierson Booher; son and daughter-in-law, Colton and Sara Canedy; grandchildren, Ezra Yalung, Micah Yalung, Abigail Yalung, Wesley Booher, Bennett Booher, and Cooper Canedy; mother, Marlene Pym; sister, Pamela Speciale; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Annette Canedy; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Darlene and Pete Smith, and several nieces and nephews.

Per Cathy’s wishes, there will be no services.
