Evans, Jackie Frank
Jackie Frank Evans, age 84, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at his home in Peterstown, West Virginia. He was born April 13, 1941, in Lindside, West Virginia. He was the son of the late Newman B. and Alma Campbell Evans. He was a loving husband and father and will be missed by all who knew him.
Jackie was a veteran of the United States Army and worked and retired from Celanese where he worked his way up to Area Superintendent, spending five and a half years in China helping to build new facilities. After he retired and traveled the United States with his wife, he went back to work delivering pharmaceuticals for his close friend J.B. Buckland, and later his son, Jason Buckland, and worked until he was diagnosed with the disease that eventually took his life. He developed close friendships both at Celanese and Rich Creek Carrier Services, Inc. that he cherished and he took pride in the work ethic that he passed down to those around him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, Danny, Brownie, Rocky, and Glen Evans; three sisters, Geraldine “Jerry” Riffe, Joan Hines, and Minnie Taylor; in-laws, Roby and Rita Gautier, Jack and Rhetta Neal; brother-in-law, Waddie Robertson; and sisters-in-law, Judy Evans and Barbara Evans.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Ruby Evans; son, Jackie “Tank” Evans Jr. of Narrows, Virginia; daughter, Whitney Cruz and husband Eliseo of Narrows, Virginia; grandchildren, Kari Evans of Blacksburg, Virginia, Colt Evans of Rich Creek, Virginia, Aaron Cruz of Narrows, Virginia, Micah Cruz of Narrows, Virginia; and great grandson, Koi Evans of Lindside, West Virginia; and many nieces and nephews along with two special sisters-in-law, Joann Gunter and husband Buck of Lindside, West Virginia, and Gail Evans of Gap Mills, West Virginia.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Jim Rogers and Pastor Tony Robertson officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00PM until time of services on Sunday at the funeral home.
