Farley, Ronald R. and Charlotte
While the passing of a loved one is always bittersweet; we are celebrating the reuniting of mom and dad as Ronald R. Farley (06/13/1935) went home to meet his Lord and savior on October 20, 2025. He joins his wife Charlotte, father and mother L.W. and Lennis Farley, his daughter Karen Jones, his sister Jeanette and his identical twin Donald.
As we see fitting after sharing almost 70 years of marriage we are sharing their obituaries together as the ending of their seasons together. Left to cherish their memories are listed below (in Charlotte’s obituary) including his brothers James (Mable), Bill (Rhonda), Tommy (Marie), Johnny (Tammy) and sister Margie.
Ronald (a.k.a. dad and grandpa) loved the LORD. He cherished his church and his brothers and sisters in Christ. He loved to tell others about Jesus, (never passing up an opportunity to do so) reading his bible and praying. He was always a great witness of God’s love to all who knew him.
However sad this occasion should be, it is such a blessing to know Ronald and Charlotte are forever united and rejoicing with their Lord at all the splendor and promises Heaven has given them, as they both have heard “welcome my good and faithful servant.”
Charlotte L. Whittaker Farley was born on March 27, 1937 (May 31, 2025) to Terry and Cecil Whittaker. Charlotte and her husband Ronald R. Farley have been married for 70 years. She had three children, Karen Jones (Keith) deceased, Debra Woodrum (Russell), and Ronald K. Farley (Melvona). She adored and was adored by her grandchildren Amy Ward (Tom) and Tiffany Farley.
Charlotte LOVED the Lord. When her children were small, she read them “The Bible Story” nightly. “Mom and Dad” took them to church every time the doors were opened. She lead Bible school, helped dad with the youth, sang in the choir, even leading it when needed. (She would also play the piano in a pinch.)
Charlotte wrote an unpublished book about her early years as a Christian entitled “O Hallelujah, What a Savior.” Now she is with her Lord Jesus. “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” Until we see her again, she will be missed by her loving and devoted husband, her children and grand-children.
A very special thank you to ACG Hospice, Dr. Jared March, Dr. Judy, neighbors, their church family at Fellowship Baptist and Joe & Judy Wade.
Graveside rites will be Wednesday, October 22, 2025 meeting at Horne Funeral Home at 11:15 with interment at Roselawn Memorial Gardens at noon.
