Putnam, Ronald Eugene

Ronald Eugene Putnam, 69 of Radford passed away October 9th 2024 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emerson and Thelma Putnam; his sister Dixie Wallace Putnam; his brother Richard Warren Putnam; and son-in-law David Elmore.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jane Ann Putnam; daughter, Katherine Putnam Elmore; son, Philip Andrew Putnam; grandson, Robert Marko Elmore; brother, Ray (Charlotte} Putnam; sister-in-law, Peggy (Mark) Meeds; sister-in-law, Lori Cropper; brother-in-law, Joseph Buchanan.

Ron grew up in Piqua, OH and graduated high school from Piqua Central High School in 1973. He went to college at Warner Southern College graduating with a BA in Pastoral Ministry. Ron pastored in Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Virginia. Ron worked at Dish Network and later at Bill’s Used Parts before retiring in 2019.

Ron was a loving and honorable husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed working in his flower garden, singing, traveling, and found a love of cooking in his retirement. Ron loved studying the Word of God and sharing insight to challenge others to think and grow.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 19th, 2024, from 10:00 am-11:00 am at First Church of God 650 Canaan Rd. Christiansburg, VA 24073. Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 am at First Church of God with Pastor Derek Specht, and Pastor Jessica Willis officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ron’s honor to the Youth Ministries at the First Church of God, 650 Canaan Rd., Christiansburg, VA 24073
