Dixon, Nellie Canterbury

Nellie Grey Canterbury Clinebell Dixon, age 90, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024. Born December 10, 1933, on Zion Mountain in Summers County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mamie Mann Canterbury.

Nellie traveled the world and was an excellent writer, having published four books. She enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved the mountains.

Nellie is survived by three sons; one daughter; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, August 12, 2024, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Edward “Eddie” Dolphin officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00PM until time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
