11/6-7: YMCA Artisan Fair

11/6-7: YMCA Artisan Fair 3Shoppers, art lovers, and supporters of local talent are invited to attend the 57th Annual YMCA Artisan Fair, a treasured community tradition hosted by the YMCA at Virginia Tech. The two-day event will take place at the Blacksburg Community Center, 725 Patrick Henry Drive, Blacksburg, and will feature dozens of talented artisans showcasing unique handcrafted goods just in time for the holiday season.
The Artisan Fair offers an inviting opportunity to discover one-of-a-kind gifts while supporting the artists and makers who bring creativity and craftsmanship to life. Visitors can browse a diverse selection of handmade pottery, jewelry, textiles, woodwork, fine art, home décor, and more, all created by local and regional artisans.
More than a shopping event, the Artisan Fair celebrates community, creativity, and connection. Each purchase supports independent artists while helping the YMCA continue programs that strengthen youth, families, and international outreach efforts throughout the New River Valley and beyond.
Artisan Fair Hours
  • Friday, November 6: 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 7: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Visitors can also enjoy delicious food throughout the weekend from the YMCA Food Truck, featuring nutritious meals and snacks. A special Pancake Breakfast will be served on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., providing the perfect way to start a day of shopping and community celebration.
11/6-7: YMCA Artisan Fair 4The YMCA at Virginia Tech recently received a grant from the Virginia Tourism Corporation’s Special Events & Festivals Sponsorship Program to support the 57th Annual YMCA Artisan Fair, helping expand promotion of the event and attract visitors to the region. The grant recognizes the fair’s longstanding contribution to local tourism, economic vitality, and community engagement.

“For 57 years, the Artisan Fair has brought together talented makers, community members, and visitors in a welcoming space that celebrates creativity and connection,” said Laureen Blakemore, Director of Community Engagement. “Whether you’re searching for the perfect holiday gift, enjoying breakfast with family, or supporting local artists, there’s something special for everyone at this year’s fair.”
Admission is free. While there is no charge to attend, donations at the door are gratefully appreciated and directly support the YMCA’s work strengthening youth, families, and communities through local programs and international outreach.
