YMCA Boutique Returns March 27 & 28
Following an enthusiastic community response and a successful February opening that served more than 50 local teens, the YMCA at Virginia Tech—together with the Blacksburg Junior Women’s Club and Chi Delta Alpha, is excited to reopen the Cinderella & Prince Charming Boutique on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28.
The boutique provides high school students with free or low-cost formal wear, including dresses, suits, shoes, and accessories. With prom season approaching and the cost of attire often creating barriers for families, the boutique ensures that every young person can participate confidently and affordably.
“Seeing over 50 students find their perfect outfit in February reminds us why this program matters,” said Laureen Blakemore, Director of Community Engagement. “Prom is a milestone, and we’re committed to making sure that cost never stands in the way of joy, confidence, or belonging.”
The Blacksburg Junior Women’s Club continues its long-standing support of youth empowerment through this initiative. Members of Chi Delta Alpha will again assist onsite, offering personal shopping guidance, organizing inventory, and helping create a warm, welcoming experience for every guest.
