Would you like local classified ads?
We are considering offering free classified ads on NRVNews. Due to the scams that seem to be abundant on Craigslist, and now permeating Facebook marketplace, shopping on both those sites is of questionable value these days. We’ve been asked by several readers to set up an ad system, and we think maybe it’s the right time to do so.
We think we have some features in place that would prevent ads from outside sources and limit them to the zip codes in our immediate area. To do this, we would give readers the opportunity to register on NRVNews as users, but they will have to give us their name, address, and phone number to be verified as local users. We hope that will prevent us from an onslaught of ads from other states or countries. We recognize that nothing is 100% foolproof, but these are the most reasonable safeguards we’ve looked at. And we would only allow registered users to respond to the ads. Your name would not be displayed on the ad, but we want a record of it in case we have to verify any details with you down the road.
Since we’re still in the planning stages, I’d like some input from you about whether you think this is a viable idea. You can leave your comments below, or email editor @ nrvnews.com (removing the spaces).

Absolutely yes! So many things I’d like to sell/buy/donate but don’t want the hassle of dealing with far away places.
