Donald Lee Wood, age 86, of Christiansburg, passed away peacefully from this world to his heavenly home on Sunday, May 19, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Don worked at Lynchburg Foundry for 35 years and retired and worked at Plymouth, Inc. for 5 years.
He was a faithful man of God and loved his Lord. He lived for him 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. He was also a loving devoted husband and dad.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rachel T. Wood; children, JoAnn Wood Lytton (Dennis), Rodney Wood (Maura), Susan Flinchum Wood (Eugene); grandchildren, Nicholas Wood, Jeremiah Flinchum, Nicole Howell Lytton, Keith Lytton; great-grandchildren, Christion Brightwell, Hunter Brightwell, Brooklyn Howell, Caleb Lytton; great-great grandchild, Kal-El Brightwell.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home chapel with Brother Don Leonard officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home.
