Williams, Tonya Jean

Williams, Tonya Jean 2Tonya Jean Williams, 56, of Pembroke, Virginia, fought a long, courageous battle with Cancer until the Lord called her home on June 12, 2026, at Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital. Born on June 7, 1970, in Virginia, Tonya carried with her throughout her life the values of kindness, humility, and devotion to the people she loved.

Tonya was employed as a Coder Operator for Wolverine, where she was known for her dependable work ethic and commitment to doing her job well. Outside of work, Tonya enjoyed a life filled with the things that brought her peace and happiness. She loved fishing, playing guitar, riding backroads, and watching movies. She especially cherished time spent with family and friends, and she found joy in the comfort of familiar company and meaningful conversation. Tonya appreciated living a simple life, and she embraced each day with gratitude for the people and moments that mattered most to her.

Tonya is survived by her companion, Missy Hale; her brother, Paul Edward Williams and Kelly Barker; her nephews, Kurtis Barker and Kaleb Williams; her special cousins, Jammie Hale, Brian Beaver, JJ Hale, and Larry “Birdman” Fletcher; and several aunts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Edward Williams and Norma Jean Lucas Williams. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Lida Lucas, Walter Lucas, Isaac Edward Williams, and Lura Williams.
