Water Testing Available for Montgomery County 4Do you have a well or spring in Montgomery County? Do you wonder if your water is safe to drink? The Virginia Household Water Quality program offers affordable water testing and education to improve the water quality and health of Virginians who rely on wells and springs.

Our water testing includes bacteria, lead, arsenic, and 11 other contaminants that may cause health problems or make your water taste or smell bad.

How does it work?

Pick up your sample kit at the one of our available locations:
Monday, March 14, 2022 – 4:30pm-6:00pm at HABB1 Building, Room 108, 1230 Washington St. Virginia Tech OR Monday, March 14, 2022 11:30am – 1:00pm or 4:30pm – 6:00pm at the Montgomery Co. Government Center, Suite 1G, 755 Roanoke St., Christiansburg, VA 24073.

Collect samples on designated date and drop off locally at one of our available locations. Sample drop off will occur on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, 7:30am – 10:00am at both locations: HABB1 Building – Washington Street side, Virginia Tech OR the Montgomery County Government Center, Suite 1G, 755 Roanoke Street, Christiansburg.

Samples are analyzed at Virginia Tech. Results will be mailed or emailed after April 18, 2022. A presentation link will be provided via email to help you understand your results.

How much does it cost? $60 per sample kit. *$50 subsidies are available for residents in Montgomery County with funding from Virginia Environmental Endowment’s Community Conservation Program. If you are interested in the subsidy, please contact us for a separate registration link!
