Telephone Scam Alert 4On August 18th, the Blacksburg Police Department was made aware of a fraudulent message being left on voice mailboxes, asking the individual to contact the police department at a specific number. The number given, leads callers to a voice message appearing to be the BPD.

The only number for reaching the Blacksburg Police Department on its main line is (540) 443-1400. The public is asked to call this number should they receive such a message or become aware of additional fraudulent activity.

This finding is currently under investigation.
