Southern, Allen Kelly

Allen Kelly Southern, II, age 60, of Christiansburg passed away, Friday, October 23, 2026. He was born in Christiansburg, Virginia on December 28, 1965, to the late Alan Kelly and Dreama Wheeling Southern. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Southern, and great grandson Baby Scott.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Linda Southern. Daughters and sons-in-law, Cece Meadows and Amanda (Josh) Abate. Stepdaughters, Heather Stultz and Carrie Stultz (Jason); grandchildren, Amber Freeman (Justin), Dylan Marshall, Ariel Gibson (Trent), Shane Hypes (Kelsey), Morgan Wingo, Danny Meadows and Austin Meadows, Annavaye Abate, Elijah Abate, Isaiah Abate, Adalyne Abate and Avan Abate; great-grandchildren, Destiny, Justin, Bella, Cameron, Amaya, and Addi; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby Southern and James Southern (Sharon); niece, Jamie Burton; and nephews, Justin Southern and A.J. Southern.

Kelly will be greatly missed by his wonderful cousins and friends. He loved life and his family. His passion was tools and Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He was a great contractor and was the maintenance supervisor for the Holiday Inn Express in Blacksburg, where he loved his work family.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 29, 2026 at 6:00 pm with Pastor Chandler Jones officiating at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 pm until service time at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
