Loren was a born-again Christian and an active member of Auburn Baptist Church. Her ministry at Auburn included being a youth teacher, nursery worker, Bible school helper and serving wherever the Lord led. She was known to all as an extraordinary example of faith through life’s trials, including surviving a battle with colon cancer in 2025.
Loren was a tenderhearted, dedicated Wife, Mom, Daughter and Sister, who loved and cherished her family. She continuously placed her family’s needs above her own and made sure that everyone was always taken care of. She had an innate ability to find the joy in every experience and shared that with others through her radiant smile and contagious laugh. She loved spending time with her family, participating in church functions, taking pictures, the beach, sea turtles, shopping, pickles and vinegar. She was a stranger to none and made friends everywhere she went.
Loren was a graduate of Shawsville High School and New River Community College. She was a dedicated employee of Floyd County Public Schools for 13 years, where she held many roles in teams, clubs, and organizations schoolwide. Most importantly, she served as a second Mom to numerous students and athletes alike and loved every child as if they were her own.
Loren was “a light in this dark world,” which shall now shine forever.
