Progress Street Bike Improvements

In 2022, the Town of Blacksburg repaved Progress Street NW from North Main Street to Patrick Henry Drive, adding bicycle lanes and sharrows. In the second phase of this project, the Town is proposing improvements to the bicycle infrastructure network on this highly traveled route.

The Progress Street proposal includes replacing the sharrows with a bicycle lane on Progress Street NW from Broce Drive to Watson Avenue. To make these safety improvements, parking is proposed to be removed from the side of the street with odd addresses from Broce Drive to Watson Avenue.
