McCroskey, Geraldine Hilton
Monta Geraldine Hilton McCroskey of Pembroke, Virginia, passed away on May 18, 2026, at Lewis Gale Medical Center-Montgomery. She was born on October 2, 1935, in Giles County, Virginia, and lived a life marked by kindness, devotion, and quiet strength.
Geraldine was a woman who valued family, cherished friendship, and carried herself with grace throughout her years. Geraldine spent much of her life working in production at Radford Arsenal, where she was respected for her steady work ethic and dependable nature. In her younger years, Geraldine enjoyed dancing and singing, and she carried that joyful spirit with her throughout her life. She also loved cooking and gardening, finding comfort and happiness in creating meals for others and tending to the beauty of growing things.
Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Hilton, affectionately known as “Bunny.” She is also remembered by her special friends, Billy and Pam Hilton, Nellie Hilton, and TC Smith, who held a meaningful place in her life. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory and the love she shared with them over the years. Her family and friends will remember her for the care she gave, the memories she helped create, and the steady love that defined her relationships.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Lanie Holdren Hilton; her husband, Nathan Eugene McCroskey; her grandson, Jason Hare; and her siblings, Barbara Williams, Alice Croy, and Norman Hilton.
The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Friday, May 22, 2026 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM in Kendall Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, May 22, 2026 at 12:00 PM in Kendall Funeral Home with Pastor Reggie Britts officiating.
