Light Up Your Home for the Holidays
The Christiansburg Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a residential Christmas decorating contest. Staff members will visit each home submitted to determine the top 10 entries. The finalists will be placed on the Town’s Facebook page so that citizens can vote for their favorite decorations.
Voting will begin on Friday, December 15 and run until 9 a.m. on Monday, December 18. The winner will be announced on Tuesday, December 19.
Rules & Regulations
- Decorations for the contest must be available and lit up on December 12-14 between the hours of 5:30 -9 p.m. for judging and pictures.
- Contest is for exterior decorations only, including decorations in windows that are visible from the exterior. Judging will be done from outside the residence only.
- Judging criteria will include:
- Unique design and creative use of lights and decorations.
- Storyline or theme
- Display and placement of decorations, animated objects, etc.
- Overall presentation
- You must be located within the Christiansburg town limits.
- Deadline to be included is December 8 at 5 p.m.
- Be creative, be festive, have fun!
Once all the registration forms are received the Town will release a map of the Town of Christiansburg Christmas light trail. Your location will only be included in the map if you give consent to publicize the address of your location.
