LEGO Home Building Contest Winners

The New River Valley Home Builders Association (NRVHBA) is excited to announce the winners of their LEGO Home Building Contest that took place at the 2025 NRV Home Expo, March 22 – 23rd at the Christiansburg Rec Center. Community members of all ages from throughout the New River Valley were invited to submit entries of their best custom home creation.

Over 30 entries were received, and Best in Show, 2nd place, and 3rd place winners were chosen among four age groups. Entries were judged at the 2025 NRV Home Expo by a panel of NRVHBA members. Each entry received scores based on Overall Design, the Best Use of LEGO Elements, Story, and the “Cool Factor” (overall creativity and originality). An award was also given for the People’s Choice in both the Kids and Adult categories. Attendees at the NRV Home Expo were invited to vote for their favorite entry.

Winners were announced at the NRV Home Expo on Sunday, March 23rd by James Cabler, an NRVHBA member and representative from the Lego Contest sponsor, Carter Bank. Each age group winner and the people’s choice winners received custom-made medals in recognition of their outstanding designs. Cabler shared his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “It was truly an honor to serve as a judge for the New River Valley Homebuilders Association Lego Contest. This competition aligns with Carter Bank’s core values of Community Support and Building Relationships. Every year, we’re amazed by the creativity and skill that builders of all ages in our community bring to the table.”

This marks the fourth year that Carter Bank has proudly sponsored the competition, and they look forward to continuing their support. A big thank you was extended to the NRVHBA for organizing this fantastic event and to all the participants for their hard work and dedication. Congratulations to all the winners!
