In Loving Memory of Vaivasa Soona, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away at the home of her daughter in Pembroke, Virginia; surrounded by love. Born in Samoa, Vaivasa carried the vibrant spirit of her Polynesian heritage throughout her life.
Vaivasa’s love for cooking and her passion for Polynesian dance brought joy to all who knew her. Her warm smile and delicious Polynesian dishes were a gift to those lucky enough to experience her generosity and culture.
Our Mothers legacy of love, culture, and kindness will continue to inspire all who were touched by her life.
Vaivasa was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne Kelly; beloved daughter, Angeline “Emmy” Siphia; her cherished grandson, Bobby “Ekoku/Tra’e” Eugene; and several siblings. She is survived by her children, Pinky Taylor, Mekala Ilene, and Jess Cleveland. Her eight beautiful Grand children: Brandon Hanalei Kaleo’o’kalani, Shanda Malia Kehaulani, Dewon Q., Richard Lekaki, Jayleen C., Yzemene Lashae, Kysmet Isis; Jaden Rein and countless family, friends, and loved ones who will forever hold her in their hearts.
