Jones, Walter Alan

Walter Alan Jones, 73, of Pulaski died unexpectedly Saturday, December 9, 2023, while spending time with his family. Walter was retired from Corning in Christiansburg and served our country for 29 years in the US Army Reserves. He was also a member of the Open-Door Baptist Church in Pulaski.

He was born on March 13, 1950, to William Samuel Jones and Mary Pauline Jones who precede him death as well as brothers: David Jones, Thomas Jones, and Timothy Jones. Also preceding him in death is his sister, Theresa Jane Jones.

Walt leaves behind his loving wife of fifty-one years, Barbara Ritter Jones. Also mourning his loss is a daughter, Monica Jones McDaniel of Pulaski and a granddaughter, Sierra Grace McDaniel.

Also surviving Walt is his brother, Richard N. Jones and a host of extended family members.

Visitation will be held on the evening of Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the chapel of Norris Stevens Funeral home located at 815 Randolph Avenue in Pulaski.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Norris Stevens Funeral Home beginning at eleven o’clock with Pastor Kelly Howlett officiating. Interment will follow at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
