HHS Grant to Virginia Tech
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded Virginia Tech, based in Blacksburg, Virginia, a $709,867 grant. The funding supports research into metabolic disease. U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:
“Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes are two of the most prevalent types of metabolic diseases that impact millions of Americans.
“This HHS grant for more than $709,000 helps Virginia Tech study in greater detail metabolic diseases.”
BACKGROUND
The HHS office responsible for this grant is the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.
As a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Congressman Griffith serves as the Chairman of the Health Subcommittee.

I hope there is some kind of oversight with this grant. Tooany times these grants are poorly used and even given part of it to DEI programs that have nothing to do with the original intent of the grant.
