Green, Aldora Keys 4Aldora Keys Green (91) of Blacksburg, Virginia, departed this life peacefully on Thursday, December 29, 2022. She was born in Boston, Ohio, on May 3, 1931, to Johnson Keys and Gracie Webb Keys Reynolds.

Aldora was a member of First Baptist Church, later St. Paul AME, Blacksburg, VA., Order of The Eastern Star, and Tri-Community Association, Blacksburg, VA. She was an active volunteer with the Montgomery County, VA Democratic Committee, and Giving Tree Food Pantry.

Aldora won multiple awards, including the prestigious Presidential Service Award, the Heroine Award, an award for perfect attendance; the In the Limelight Award; the Black Caucus Outstanding Award; and the Ring Dance Appreciation Award. She also won Radford’s President’s Volunteer Service Award.

During her 67-year tenure at Virginia Tech and Radford University, she maintained close relationships with each president. She opened her home, wallet, and heart to every student she met. Aldora had an entrepreneurial mindset; she started a commercial cleaning business, catering service, and in-home healthcare service for seniors in the Blacksburg and Christiansburg, VA communities.

Aldora was predeceased by her parents, Johnson Keys, Gracie Webb Keys Reynolds, and stepfather, Robert Reynolds; three children, Constance Lavern Green, Sheryl Ann Green, and Premature Boy Green. Three brothers, Robert Reynolds Jr., John Reynolds, and Dillion Reynolds, and two sisters, Mary Ann Keys and Patricia Burger. She leaves to cherish her memory, four loving children, Joyce A. Wood (Richard Grow), Connie J. Blair (Keith), Michael Edward Green, and Denise Houston (Keith). Three grandsons, Donald E. Moody (Stacy), Adam K. Blair, and Darrion K. Houston. One granddaughter, Karla Woodruff (Drew), and six great-grandchildren, Leilani Moody, Kamaile Moody, Micah Moody, Kaden Woodruff, Makiya Woodruff, and Donovan Woodruff; three sisters, Rebecca Keys Ford, Barbara Reynolds Burton (Edward), and Estelle Reynolds Hairston; one God daughter, Freddie’ Nicole McKenzie-Barnes, and son Daniel Johnson.

A memorial service will be held in McCoy Funeral Chapel 150 Country Club Dr, Blacksburg, VA, 24060 on Friday January 6, 2023. Visitation is from 1:00 – 2:00 PM and Memorial service from 2:00 – 3:00 PM.
