Dublin man arrested after brandishing crossbow
On April 16th, 2022, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office responded to Poplar Lane in Dublin in reference to a breaking and entering. The male subject, identified as Daniel Poff, fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival. Mr. Poff was located a short time later in the parking lot of the Gobble Stop on Wright Avenue by Deputy Bruce and Deputy Ingo.
During the course of the interaction with deputies, Mr. Poff grabbed a loaded crossbow, pointing it in the direction of the deputies. The quick actions of the deputies prevented Mr. Poff from firing it, and he was taken into custody.
Once taken into custody, Mr. Poff was transported to the New River Valley Regional Jail where he was charged with assault and battery on law enforcement, attempted abduction, brandishing a firearm, obstruction of justice, attempted breaking and entering while armed with a deadly weapon, driving while intoxicated, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Daniel Poff was ordered held without bond. This is an ongoing investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
