Crawford, Donald Eugene

Donald Eugene Crawford, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg, WV. Born December 5, 1937, in Lindside, WV, he was the son of the late Charles Lewis and Mae Copeland Crawford.

Donald was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed spending time working around the house. He was a jack of all trades who loved gardening and tending to his fruit trees. He worked at the block plant, cut timber, farmed, and most recently, worked at Celanese in Narrows, VA. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Ann Farley Crawford; daughter, Kathy Ann Perdue; and siblings, Howard Crawford, Millard Crawford, Pansy Canterbury, Everett Crawford, Tommy Crawford, Richard Crawford, Bill Crawford, and Harold Crawford.

Survivors include his son, Steve Crawford and wife Crystal of Lindside, WV; sister, Virginia Long of Ballard, WV; son-in-law, Scotty Perdue of Narrows, VA; grandchildren, Jennifer and Kimberly Crawford, Jaden Nance, Kristie Persinger, Jesse Perdue, and Bethany Brugh; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends; and his beloved pet dog, Riley. Additionally, the family would like to extend a special thanks to Donald’s nurse, Crystal Cole, along with the staff of Peyton Hospice House for their exceptional care.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Pastors Tim Sanderson and Paul Broyles officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Memorial Gardens in Lindside, WV. Visitation will be held from 1:00PM until time of services on Sunday at the funeral home.
