Danny C. Cox, age 67 of Allisonia passed away Friday, June 19, 2026 at the Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia. Born November 11, 1958 he was the son of the late Paul & Effie Akers Cox. He was also preceded in death by his brother Roswell David Cox and sister Melinda Rose Cox.

Children – Kelli Metz, Ashley (Mark) Lockhart, Karen (David) Young
Grandchildren – Sonya “Buzzard” Fortune, Genesis “Booger” Lockhart, Axel “Tater” Lockhart, Jaxson “Gun Rack” Lockhart, Shae Bethancourt, Yanka Bethancourt, Amara Gellner
Great Granddaughter – Lyra Sue Bethancourt
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM – Saturday, June 27, 2026 at the Farris Mines Christian Church in Allisonia with Pastor Justin Phillips officiating.
A Celebration of Life will also be held 11:30 AM – Saturday, July 4, 2026 at Cox’s Farm (Big Reed Island – Allisonia).
