Cochran, Margaret Elizabeth

Cochran, Margaret Elizabeth 2Margaret Elizabeth Cochran (née Graves), of Dublin, Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, at the age of 86.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Cochran Welch; her son, Michael Jason Cochran; her sister, Julia Ann Light; her grandchildren, Amber, Matthew, Noah, Madeleine, Maya, Andrew, and Aubrey; and her great-grandchildren, Ryann, Finley, Wyatt, and Gabrilynn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lewis Cochran; her son, Eric Landon Cochran; her daughter, Phyllis Cochran Saunders; her sister, Margie Graves Poe; and her brother, Claude Graves.

Margaret was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose immense strength, resilience, compassion, and generosity were reflected in the way she lived her life and touched the lives of others.

Guided by her steadfast and unwavering faith, Margaret was an active and beloved member of her congregation. Through every challenge life presented, she remained anchored by her trust in Jehovah’s goodness and found comfort and purpose in her faith.

Margaret was a doer. She believed in rolling up her sleeves and using her talents and gifts to care for others and lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. She showed up for so many people in ways both big and small.

Whether through cooking, gardening, or caregiving, she expressed her love through acts of service. To feed you or work alongside you were among her favorite ways of showing she cared. She could often be found frying squash and apple turnovers, making a quick pot of chili, or preparing candy and pumpkin bread to share with friends and neighbors.

Perhaps you remember stringing beans from the garden and canning alongside her during the summer months. Perhaps she delivered a basket of fresh cucumbers to your door, stopped by to check on you when you were unwell, or sent a handwritten letter of encouragement during a difficult season. Whatever memory you hold, it is a testament to the kindness and love she shared so freely.

Our lives are forever touched by her love, and we will celebrate her always.

To our Mom and Gran – there are no permanent goodbyes. Holding you in our hearts — A Hui Hou — until we meet again.
